How are my stats and progress saved?
Your record starts building from the first hand you play. The only decision is whether it lives on one device or follows you across all of them.
Guest saving
Play as a guest and your win counts, streaks and records are stored in your browser's local storage, kept separately for each game and mode - your All Fives record to 100 doesn't blur into your race to 250, and your Block stats stand on their own. Close the tab, come back next week, and it's all still there. The catch: it lives on that one device, and clearing browser data erases it.
Syncing with an account
The optional Google sign-in backs your stats up and syncs them across every device you use, and it keeps a permanent name on the leaderboard and the daily boards. If you split your play between a phone and a laptop, that's the whole case for signing in - one record instead of two halves, as do I need an account? covers.
Privacy and portability
Guest stats never leave your browser, and no personal data is needed to play. Because everything runs client-side, your progress even keeps recording while you're offline, syncing when you reconnect. Signing in is purely for convenience - never a requirement.
Related questions
Do I need an account to play?
No. Everything is playable as a guest - your stats save in your browser automatically, and even multiplayer and the daily challenge just ask for a display name. An optional Google sign-in adds cross-device syncing and a permanent name on the boards, but it's never required.
Can I play dominoes offline?
Mostly, yes. Once a game page has loaded, playing against the computer keeps working if your connection drops, and your stats save locally on your device. Only the live features - multiplayer, the leaderboard and the daily boards - need you online.
Does dominoes work on mobile?
Yes. Every game is built for touch: tap a tile to play it, with the board scaling to your screen so pips stay readable. There's no app to download - it runs in your mobile browser, and you can add it to your home screen to play like an app.
